The Payroll/Accounting Clerk is primarily responsible for management of the Center's payroll operations, which include but are not limited to personnel updates, taxes, deductions, benefits, and any other updates required by personnel or the payroll program.
The Payroll/Accounting Clerk also works closely with the Accounts Payable Clerk in preparation of invoices for payment.

Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate personnel records for all employees within the payroll system.
Produce semi-monthly and monthly payroll in a timely manner for all employees of the Center.
Provide accurate reports for all semi-monthly and monthly payroll taxes and supplemental deductions for all employees.
Accurate data entry skills with great attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to communicate with employees regarding their issues and concerns.
Ability to multitask in a stressful environment with specific deadlines.
Ability to work independently in a time-sensitive environment.
Maintain confidentiality and respect for the privacy of employee records.
Process wage garnishments Check timesheets for accuracy.
Code invoices for preparation of payment to outside vendors Assist as backup to the Accounts Payable Clerk.
Be an effective team player.
Perform other duties as assigned by direct supervisor.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent with at least three years of experience in payroll processing, preferably in the non-profit sector.
Excellent time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Satisfactory completion of CPR prior to reporting to the work site.
Satisfactory completion of CPI within 30 days of employment.
Requires completion of annual training in compliance with DMH standards.
Online records management and excellent word processing skills.
Acceptable criminal background check.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
