Responsibilities for the Materials Manager
Supervise and coordinate activities of production team of 20+ members to meet production quality, safety, schedule, and costs targets and assign job duties
Anticipate and address daily production issues to determine solutions to new and chronic production problems
Perform as liaison between management and production team and conduct daily meetings to set daily goals and address issues
Perform daily production audits or assign responsibility for this role duty
Develop production team skills and manage team including hiring, training, etc.
Review production schedules and estimate requirements for completion of jobs
Recommend approaches to improve production, equipment, product quality, safety and work conditions
Interface and coordinate activities across all departments and work with production team to improve process flows
Requirements for the Materials Manager
Associates Degree in manufacturing, management, operations, or other area, A PLUS to have four year degree
Minimum 2 to 5 years experience in light or heavy assembly manufacturing environment
Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or similar techniques
A PLUS to have supervisory experience or military leadership
Solid ability to manage work force through motivation and frequent constructive interface
Ability to encourage production team to meet production and quality goals
Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
