Degree:
Successful completion of a course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a degree with major study in biology, zoology, or biological oceanography that included at least 30 semester hours in biological and aquatic science and 15 semester hours in the physical and mathematical sciences. This course work must have included:
At least 15 semester hours of preparatory training in zoology beyond introductory biology or zoology in such courses as invertebrate zoology, comparative anatomy, histology, physiology, embryology, advanced vertebrate zoology, genetics, entomology, and parasitology; and At least 6 semester hours of training applicable to fishery biology in such subjects as fishery biology, ichthyology, limnology, oceanography, algology, planktonology, marine or fresh water ecology, invertebrate ecology, principles of fishery population dynamics, or related course work in the field of fishery biology; and At least 15 semester hours of training in any combination of two or more of the following:
chemistry, physics, mathematics, or statistics. In addition to meeting the basic requirement, you must also possess experience and/or directly related education in the amounts listed below. Specialized Experience Requirement:
For the GS-11 level:
At least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service. To qualify at this grade level, your specialized experience for this position must include the following:
Using genetic tools, geographic information systems including remote sensing data, telemetry or PIT tagging, traditional and innovative field sampling techniques, and statistical modeling to investigate the biology and management of aquatic invertebrate, such as crayfish, and fish assemblages. Disseminating research findings at conferences or scientific meetings and contributing to results published in peer-reviewed journals. Completing the full scientific research cycle (developing hypotheses, designing field studies, obtaining funding, implementing study, analyzing data, publishing peer-reviewed manuscripts; and conveying results to professional and lay audiences) to test hypotheses about the ecology of invertebrate, such as crayfish, and fish assemblages. Identifying invertebrates, such as crayfish, and warmwater, non-game fishes within the diverse assemblages of aquatic and semi-aquatic invertebrate, such as southern crayfish, and vertebrate faunas, with ability to key out unfamiliar species. OR Conferred Master's degree with a published thesis and coursework directly related to the position being filled. Coursework related to the position includes:
ichthyology; genetics; GIS; multivariate statistical analysis; limnology; aquatic ecology. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
